Help Adults With Learning Disabilities This Christmas

Here’s just a few of the reasons to support our small, London-based social enterprise this Christmas:

  1. At Interestingly Different and our parent organisation Nickel Support, we are dedicated to providing employability opportunities for adults with learning disabilities.
  2. Through furniture upcycling, making and classes, we help to give the adults in our care purpose, thereby increasing their overall wellness.
  3. We aim to foster a sense of community for our ‘trainees’ and their families, creating a more inclusive society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
  4. We provide access to job training, skill development and the chance for our trainees to achieve greater independence.
  5. Our lovely gifts are meaningful and memorable and reflect the care and effort put into them, adding a personal touch.
  6. You can encourage ethical consumerism and promote sustainable business practices that prioritise people over profits.
  7. You can help to reinforce the values of compassion, inclusion, and community.
  8. As well as supporting adults with learning disabilities, by shopping with us you will also help 33 other social enterprises across the UK, working to help a wide range of causes including homelessness, mental health issues and women experiencing domestic violence.

Interestingly Different

Interestingly Different is a London-based social enterprise with the mission of improving the lives of people with learning disabilities and their families. We showcase gifts and furniture created and upcycled by ‘trainees’ at our parent organisation Nickel Support. As well as Interestingly Different handmade gifts and homeware, we offer bath and beauty items, food and drink, home accessories and more. These are carefully curated from social enterprises across the UK, all working independently for social causes.

Camphill Village Trust

Camphill Village Trust is a national charity supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health problems and complex needs to lead more fulfilled lives. Supporting over 600 adults across 10 communities, they empower people to make informed choices and contribute to their communities.

Harrogate Chocolate Factory

The Harrogate Chocolate Factory‘s mission is to create high-quality, artisanal chocolates while fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for young adults with learning disabilities and autism. They are dedicated to sourcing sustainable ingredients and employ ethical production methods whilst creating employment opportunities and partnerships with local organisations.
