Designs in Mind
We love the concept of Designs in Mind, a working design studio in Shropshire helping to foster a more inclusive society. Here, over 100 adults living with mental health challenges come together to work on experimental art and design projects. These can be developed into products, art or design pieces. At the studio, design and creativity really has a positive effect on people’s lives… raising confidence whilst giving people the opportunity to connect with others.
Studio 306
This London-based community group of skilled arts and craft practitioners empowers disadvantaged local individuals and offers a creative space for those recovering from mental illness. They specialise in designing high quality ceramics, jewellery, sewn and printed products. Studio 306’s attendees can develop skills that they already possess as well as learning new techniques helping to increase confidence.
Wildroots Creative
Set up during the pandemic by two friends, Sally and Claire, Wildroots Creative run craft sessions for many community groups, including adults with learning disabilities and people experiencing mental health challenges. They believe that participating in creative activities in a natural setting can have an overall positive effect on mental and physical health.
