Interestingly Different is a London-based social enterprise aiming to improve the lives of people with learning disabilities and their families.
In our shop and online, we showcase gifts and furniture created and upcycled by ‘trainees’ at our parent organisation, learning disability service Nickel Support.
As well as Interestingly Different handmade gifts and homeware, we also offer a range of other items including food and drink and home accessories. Shop with us and help us to give purpose, employability skills and more to our trainees. Your purchase makes a big difference.
Inside Interestingly Different
The Interestingly Different project is unique – our trainees are able to learn and showcase their skills in a supported environment at Nickel Support. As well as working directly in store, they work on the production side, carefully making our preserves and teabags, upcycling furniture and creating beautiful pieces out of eco-friendly resin, jesmonite.
After gaining experience with us, quite a few of our trainees go on to gain employment at local organisations. We are proud and humbled every day when we see our trainees gain confidence, flourish and grow.

How can you help others?
At Interestingly Different we want to find opportunities to train and provide paid employment to talented people with a disability, learning difficulty or life challenge. In order to do this we want to create a ring-fenced pool of money which will be used solely for employment costs of those that we are seeking to help. To help us achieve this we have continued The Priceless Spoon concept developed by Promise in Store.

WE LOVE TO WELCOME NEW VISITORS. Every customer through our door gives our trainees valuable customer service experience. We love to show people around our beautiful new shop and talk about the products we sell.
